![]() If there is a reason Tate no Yuusha ever stood out in the first place, it is because of the protagonist and the appalling situation he is soon forced into. In truth, Tate no Yuusha doesn't please much of anybody. And for those who would not have labeled themselves as such, Tate no Yuusha is a testament to their dislike or indifference, being yet another mediocre, soulless title lurching and tossing throughout a tired genre that is swiftly approaching its death throes. Tate no Yuusha is a thundering disappointment for many fans of the isekai genre. Further along however, the difficulty of being on his own sets in, so Naofumi buys a demi-human slave on the verge of death named Raphtalia to accompany him on his travels.Īs the Waves approach the kingdom, Naofumi and Raphtalia must fight for the survival of the kingdom and protect the people of Melromarc from their ill-fated future. Naofumi then becomes heavily discriminated against and hated by the people of Melromarc for something he didn't do. He is soon betrayed by her, however, and becomes falsely accused of taking advantage of her. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, becomes cursed with the fate of being the "Shield Hero." Armed with only a measly shield, Naofumi is belittled and ridiculed by his fellow heroes and the kingdom's people due to his weak offensive capabilities and lackluster personality. The four heroes are respectively bestowed a sword, spear, bow, and shield to vanquish these Waves. Melromarc is a country plagued by the Waves of Catastrophe that have repeatedly ravaged the land and brought disaster to its citizens for centuries. ![]() Check it out.The Four Cardinal Heroes are a group of ordinary men from modern-day Japan summoned to the kingdom of Melromarc to become its saviors. ![]() Watching Lord Ains defeat even the most powerful enemies thrown at him with ease was pretty cool, and they didn't shy away from the violence either. At first I wasn't into this show, but after a few episodes I was hooked. He then decides to conceal his true form (a skeleton-type dude) and go on the lookout for his previous friends (who were all Supreme Beings) by becoming a low-level adventurer who wants to spread his name (now changed to Ains Ool Gown?) by defeating as many powerful enemies as possible. Of course, being god-like, he doesn't really need them, since he's nearly invincible anyway. Since his character was a Supreme Being (practically a God), things aren't so bad for him, as he has a handful of powerful guardians to protect him. Instead of logging out, he decides to stay and then realises he's trapped in this online fantasy world. Momonga is playing Yggdrasil (an online RPG I assume) and the game is shut down. Although I have seen plenty of shows where someone gets trapped inside a game, TV show or movie, so it was still enjoyable. ![]() I don't have much experience with role playing games, so a lot of the references to moves, energy, strength, skill, etc. ![]()
